Foundation Central 1.7.1 (Cisco IMM + AHV 10.0.1!)

I recently wrote about ‘Nutanix on Cisco‘ exploring the navigating of Cisco Intersight Standard Mode (ISM), vs Cisco Intersight Managed Mode (IMM) and where depending upon which Cisco server nodes you had, and which switches you had led you to a decision.

Foundation Central 1.7.1 and some magnificent joint engineering with Cisco has helped close a gap in the decision tree where a customer wanted Intersight Managed Mode (IMM), but had Cisco C Series rackmount servers forcing an ISM or UCS-M architecture.

Foundation Central 1.7.1 release brings:

ENG-739673: Foundation Central now enables Cisco UCS C-Series support for Intersight Managed Mode.

I’ve been working with a customer who just concluded the build on Rack Servers + Cisco TOR + ISM who really wanted Rack Servers + Cisco FI + IMM – now we can go back and rebuild into this configuration! Even better, they’ve got some UCS-X Blades coming too which are also IMM, and can go in the same cluster! Amazing!

FC 1.7.1 also brings a whitelist/safelist update that supports AHV 10.0.1 natively saving the need to manually add the whitelist entry during building with FC 1.7.

HEL-848: AHV 10.0.1 is now safelisted in Foundation Central 1.7.1 bundle.

I’m excited to get going and build some nodes in this optimum configuration for customers – but I’ve got another ISM deployment (No FIs) to do first.
